Thanks for a great summer full of
LITERACY + ART + FUN! 

Give your child affordable, small-group academic enrichment next summer!
WHO: Kids aged 5-10 working with Heidi Mordhorst, former MCPS Teacher & Author.
WHAT: Weekly minicamps for 8 kids only. Read & write, make art, practice skills, have fun!
WHEN: Monday-Thursday 9:00am - 12:30pm, June through August. Snack is included.
COST: Based on family income: $250 / $125 / $20 for one week. ‍Pay by cash/check/Venmo/Zelle.

Completing this form will add your child/ren to the pre-registration list for next summer. This means that you will have first access to registration starting on May 1, before general registration opens on May 15.

Some themes I’m considering for next summer include:

  • Underwater World - watercolor art + science
    Bird Is the Word - puppet design + science
    Poetry Comics - comic drawing + math
    "Concrete" Poetry - 3D sculpture + science
    Sunflower Garden - sunflower art + math

ABOUT MS. HEIDI: Heidi Mordhorst (MA, MSEd) is a veteran classroom teacher & published poet,
now working as a Teaching Artist throughout Montgomery County. She has led Panda Clubs at East Silver Spring ES and taught a poetry project for all 3rd graders in Spring 2025. WHISPERshout Writing Workshop is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to the mission of Poetry and Justice for All.
